The BCA’s membership consists of general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, surveyors, construction managers, suppliers, manufacturers, technical assistance associations, public entities, architects, attorneys, accountants, insurance agencies, surety companies, bankers, general members and associate members.
SERVICES
Advocacy: As an advocate for Black contractors, the BCA actively monitors legal issues at the Federal, State and Local levels. The BCA acts as the eyes and ears of its members, and regularly reports to its membership on key issues affecting Black contractor business operations and the construction industry.
Mentor / Protégé Program: The Mentor/Protégé Program assist start-up and developing Black construction firms to achieve success by matching Protégés with successful business mentors.
Education and Training Program: One of the BCA’s primary objectives is the development of training programs designed to enhance the competitive viability of Black contractors. These training programs are designed to position members for a better opportunity to procure contracts in both the public and private sector.
Corporate Partners Program: The BCA feels that contracting opportunities for Black construction businesses will increase through a cooperative working relationship with major corporations and contractors who are committed to the growth and expansion of all Black Businesses. Such relations will exist within the BCA’s Corporate Partners Program (CPP). The CPP is an integral part of the services provided to our membership and our interrelated activities assist the CPP representatives in the design of ideas, establishment of workshops and seminars, and the formulation of operable compliance programs.
BCA Standing Committees
Marketing Committee: The mission of the Marketing Committee is to market and increase the awareness of BCA member firms and potential member firms.
Membership Committee: The mission of the Membership Committee is to increase membership and participation and the number of NCTRCA and HUB certified Black construction related firms.
Public Policy Committee: The mission of the Public Policy Committee is to lead, influence, and enhance public policy to increase economic development for Black Contractors.
Special Events Committee: The mission of the Special Events Committee is to assist the BCA in strategic planning, programming, development and implementation of special events for BCA activities.
Training and Education Committee: The mission of the Training and Education Committee is to develop and implement classes, seminars, training and mentor/protégé programs to enhance the competitive viability of Black Contractors.
