The Black Contractors Association, Inc. (BCA) was incorporated in June of 2002 by a small group of volunteer Black contractors spearheaded by the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce. Matthew Harden, Jr. selected as Chairman of the Board.
To date, the BCA has grown into an organization of over 150 members consisting of general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and public entities.
March 2002. The BCA signed an agreement with the City of Dallas to provide training and education programs for the BCA membership.
April 2002. The BCA reached a strategic and historic alliance with the Hispanic Contractors Association with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding covering common issues of both organizations.
November 2002. The BCA held its first fundraiser and opened its doors to the Dallas/Fort Worth community by honoring excellence in contracting with its first annual Signature Awards Banquet.
June 2003. The BCA sponsors the City of Dallas, mayoral and city council candidate’s forum.
June 2003. The BCA selects Marvin Gooch as Executive Director.
December 2003. The BCA hold its 2nd annual Signature Awards Banquet with Dennis Archer, President of the American Bar Association as its keynote speaker.
February 2004. BCA holds first contractor forum for DART Phase II LTR Project discussion.
